The AFL-CIO submitted shareholder proposals asking Activision Blizzard and Electronic Arts to adopt a “Diverse Candidate Search Policy”, ensuring that women and people of color candidates are considered during recruitment. This was an attempt to improve workforce diversity in the games industry, building on the “Rooney Rule” used in the National Football League. Lawyers from Activision Blizzard rejected the proposal.
